Signs of a Connection Problem

  • An "action required" badge shows next to an account in Settings.
  • Publishing fails with an authentication error.
  • You see the message "token is invalid. Please reconnect."
  • Posts stay in "checking status" for more than a few minutes.

Reconnect an Account

Reconnecting fixes most connection errors. It gives Content Rabbit a fresh access token.

  1. Open Settings → Integrations
  2. Find the account with the error
  3. Click Reconnect
  4. Sign in to the platform in the window that opens
  5. Accept all requested permissions
  6. Return to Content Rabbit and check that the error is gone

Your drafts, scheduled posts, and published posts stay in place when you reconnect.

Why Tokens Expire

Platforms revoke access for security reasons. Common causes:

  • You changed your password on the platform
  • You removed Content Rabbit in the platform's app settings
  • The platform expired the token after a period of time
  • You declined a permission when you first connected the account

In each case, reconnect the account to fix it.

Permission and Scope Errors

These errors mean a required permission was declined during connection. For example, TikTok needs the "View your profile" permission. If you decline it, the connection fails with a scope error.

  1. Reconnect the account
  2. Read each permission the platform lists
  3. Accept all requested permissions, or Content Rabbit cannot post for you

Platform-Specific Checks

  • Instagram: use a Business or Creator account, linked to a Facebook Page
  • Facebook: grant access to the Pages you want to post to, with a Page role that allows posting
  • LinkedIn: to post to a Company Page, you must be an admin of that Page
  • Pinterest: allow access to your boards and pins
  • X (Twitter): sign in to the correct X account in your browser before you connect
  • TikTok: accept the profile permission, then reconnect

If the Connect Window Fails

  1. Sign in to the correct platform account in the same browser
  2. Disable ad blockers temporarily
  3. Try an incognito or private window
  4. Complete the flow without closing the window
